Introduction to the book, The Power of My Faith

faithSince the dawn of time mankind has sought to understand the nature of faith and its place in our lives.

From ancient times, countless civilizations have expressed their faith in ways that, to us today,  would seem incomprehensible and wondrous.  There are different mentalities, different samskaras, or impressions, belonging to each civilization, each group in society. But no matter how it is celebrated, faith remains an expression of hope for something better. More than a wish, it is closer to a belief, but not quite. A belief is rooted in the mind. Faith is based in the heart.

Faith is one human characteristic that does not allow for compromise. That is, either one possesses it or does not. Those that do possess faith generally lead blessed, fun-filled lives, despite the various trials and tribulations encountered along the way. They are usually extremely successful yet grounded in the principles of life, and generally inspire others to have faith and to improve in every aspect of their life. They usually have a healthy regard and understanding of the value and purpose of human life, and have a general realization and utmost respect for the power of God and / or the Universe.

Faith speaks the language of the heart. It is an expression of hope that goes beyond the conscious mind.

Through reading the chapters in this book I am hoping you will realize that faith is a powerful element that connects and welds us to something greater than ourselves in such a manner that goes far beyond our own human comprehension.

Faith speaks the language of the heart. It is an expression of hope that goes beyond the conscious mind.

Each contributor to this book is a living testament to the inescapable fact that our faith is the very thing that holds us steady and keeps us safe from the terrifying storms of life. It’s the intrinsic base of our complete reliance and confidence in God and the Universe.

The personal stories recounted in The Power of My Faith reassures us that even the most cruel suffering can have mysterious value. And life, even on the edge of death,  can be beautiful.
